The workbench features, fold-down leaves for efficient against-the-wall storage. Folded out, the benchtop measures 36 x 58". The heart of this system is a furnace blower with a squirrel-cage fan. When you want to sand a project, raise the side-draft hood at the end of the bench, and switch on the motor. This workbench measures 78" long, 36" wide, and 35" tall. Featured in the June 2001 issue.

n Part 1, the Full-Service Workbench downloadable plan, we showed you how to make the end cabinets and the sturdy laminated top for the workbench. Now, with the basics out of the way, lets add a pair of cabinetsone with a lift-up router table and flip-over top that accommodates a benchtop power tool. To access a tool, simply open the cabinet doors, tap the foot pedal, pull up the table, and lock it in place. With the cabinet having the flip-over top, youll also need to swivel it 180° and then lock it in place. |
